David has served as pastor of Park Hill since May, 1983.  He is a native of Missouri, growing up on a small farm just outside of Excelsior Springs.  He graduated from Washington State University with a B.A. in General Studies in Mathematics.  He has a Masters of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky where he met his wife Cathy, who currently works for WattMaster Controls in Parkville.  They have two married  sons, Michael and daughter-in-law Marnie and John and daughter-in-law Amy.  Prior to coming to Park Hill he served for almost eleven years as pastor of Bellfield Baptist Church in Henderson, Kentucky.  He served on the Missouri Baptist Convention Executive Board for six years.  He writes as an avocation and has had articles published in Proclaim Magazine and other denominational publications.  He enjoys the shooting sports, reading, working cross word puzzles and he's been known to fiddle around in the kitchen.  David and Cathy are the proud grandparents of Noelle Elizabeth Overman, daughter of John and Amy and Maude Katherine Overman, daughter of Michael and Marnie.
